College Karma
A Need for Change
Jorjeana woke up in a hospital room over eleven years ago, took one look around, remembered what happened and realized things had to change, or else...Dot. Dot. Dot.
And they have. Because decisions can be powerful. And so can comedy. Jorjeana Marie is one of the first comedians to step forward and not only admit embarassing truths about her past, but decide to inspire others to continue their life's journey, to do what they set out to do in life , become what they wanted to be when they "grow up" and to avoid the distractions that are, to Jorjeana only that, distrations.
An Urge for Fun
Always seeking thrills, fun and a quick ice-cream like head rush, instead of leaning on those devices, substances , distractions that she formerly followed to the brink, Jorjeana took the necessary steps to return to awareness and an appreciation of the gift of life and threw herself into production. She applied and was accepted with Scholarship to NYU's Tisch School of the Arts' Dramatic Writing Program. One of the best programs in the world and her "dream school". While there, she created THE LIST. A handwritten page of goals. Years later, after being on tv numerous times, in films, onstage with legendary comics and having written several plays and performed with many foundations that impinged upon the life of many young artists, the list was complete. Except for sky-diving.
A Karmic Circle Back to College
Since college was where things went wrong for Jorjeana, and also, years later, where things went right, it is only fitting that college is where she returns, this time to entertain and enlighten. A new goal on a new list. A serious topic is discussed in a light-hearted, funny, human way. Her current program combines award-winning, straight-up stand-up comedy, an education of the truth about drugs, and an overall positive experience that inspires students to make their dreams a reality. And maybe some sky-diving after a show?
